The Overstuffed Sandwiches From This Colorado Sandwich Shop Are The Stuff of Dreams

Looking for a killer sandwich in Denver? Don't miss Odie B's - there's something for everyone on the menu, and you're going to love it all.

Who doesn't love a good sandwich? If you're looking for some of the tastiest, most filling, incredibly scrumptious sandwiches in Denver metro, then you don't want to miss Odie B's. This "rowdy lil' sandwich shop" has two locations - one in Sunnyside, and one brand new location opening this month in RiNo, and you're going to love everything about both of them! Odie B's was listed in 5280 as one of the 25 Best Restaurants in Denver this year, and was on the lists for Best Breakfast and Best Restaurants in the city in The Infatuation, too. Why haven't you been there yet? After we tell you all about it, you're sure to want to make a beeline to one or both locations to satiate your appetite - and you'll be glad that you did.

There are sandwich shops everywhere, certainly. There are numerous chain sandwich shops in the area that are quite good, and in a city like Denver, there are plenty of independent options to wow you, too. However, Odie B's is a little different - and better - and you'll see that as soon as you walk in the door. Both locations are hip, fun, and welcoming, and although you can certainly get your sandwich as takeout, you very well may want to just settle in, relax, and enjoy your breakfast or lunch in style.

The atmosphere and friendly service at Odie B's are excellent, but on top of that, the food and beverages served at these spots are what will really blow you away. First of all, these aren't your average sandwiches. Every sandwich on the menu is made with locally sourced ingredients whenever possible, plus fresh toppings and creative condiments. The staff and owners of Odie B's take great care in creating mouthwatering combinations that will not only impress, but that will make you want to come back to try everything else on the menu as soon as tomorrow! Whether you're stopping by for a breakfast sandwich or a mid-day meal, you're sure to be pleased with whatever you choose to order.

What makes this place even more attractive, in my opinion, is the fact that it offers food that's suitable for carnivores, vegetarians, or vegans, so there's something for everyone on the menu.

Meat eaters can enjoy menu items like "The Basic" sandwich, which includes bacon, scrambled egg, hashbrown, and American cheese on a poppy seed kaiser roll if they want something simple, or can opt instead for the phenomenal Dirty Denver if a combination of green chile braised short rib, cheese curds, mayo, and salt and vinegar crispy onions on a hoagie roll sounds enticing. The Fried Chicken Shawarma sandwich includes crispy chicken thigh, baba ganoush, shoestring fries, cucumber salad, pickled red onions, and pomegranate yogurt on house made naan. Wow! And that's only the beginning. There are many more sandwiches from which to choose as well, and if you're craving a burger, the Double Bodega Burger will blow you away also.

If you're a vegan or vegetarian, there are plenty of incredible options for you, too. The Basic is also available in a vegan format with house-seasoned Impossible sausage standing in for the bacon. The Vegan Chopped Cheese Sandwich includes that same house-made Impossible sausage, dilly o's, pickled fresno, lettuce, fancy sauce, vegan cheddar, and everything seasoning on a hoagie roll. The Vegan Hustler is tofu and vegan egg scramble, house-seasoned Impossible chorizo, roasted green chiles, tots, vegan cheddar, and vegan habanero crema in a flour tortilla. Hungry yet?

All of these creative and scrumptious creations were developed by owner Cliff Blauvelt. Blauvelt was born in Maine and was raised in Houston, but he's been a Coloradan since he was 15. Over the past two decades, he worked at numerous well-known, area restaurants learning his craft - including famous vegetarian and vegan spot Watercourse Foods. Then, after spending some time in Aruba working in the restaurant industry, he returned to Denver and opened his own place - Odie B's Sunnyside in 2022. His vast and varied experience shines through in every dish served at Odie B's, and it's no surprise that demand and excellent reviews has led to the need for a second, new location in RiNo.

Furthermore, Blauvelt is known for giving back to the community that his restaurant serves. Odie B's participates in events like Denver's Harvest Week and Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry Campaign, and he's always looking for new ways to help others. In fact, he's even gone as far as to become a Certified Peer Support Specialist to help individuals struggling with mental health issues or substance abuse, and his staff knows that they can turn to him anytime they need support.

It's obvious that Blauvelt and his staff put their hearts and souls into everything served at Odie B's, and you'll be able to taste that in every bite. You're going to love this sandwich shop and every item on the menu is calling your name! Be sure to stop in soon to check it out - you're sure to become a regular at Odie B's very quickly, and they'll be happy to see you and serve you every time you walk through the door. Enjoy!
