You’d Never Know This Remote Saloon Is Hiding In Southern California And It’s Delightful

Saddle Sore Saloon in Glennville, near Sequoia National Park, offers a charming Western-themed experience with great food and a welcoming atmosphere.

If you're looking for a drink in Southern California, you don't usually have to look far. From posh clubs to the hole-in-the-wall biker bars, there's no shortage of watering holes here. Take a drive north just a bit, though, and you'll find a remote saloon hiding in Glennville, near Sequoia National Park.

Glennville is a tiny town in Kern County, with just one gas station and restaurant. Even though it's in the farthest northern portion of southern California, it's well worth a drive.

Once you pull into town, you can't miss Saddle Sore Saloon. It's located at 10669 Highway 155, and it's the perfect watering hole for riders of horses or hogs.

The inside of this little saloon is warm and friendly, with a Western theme.

The pool room looks like it's right out of the 1850s.

Saddle Sore is definitely charming, but it's not fancy. They'll welcome you here even with your muddy boots.

The bar is fully stocked, and you can get just about anything you'd like.

You'll definitely want to visit for dinner. These folks know how to grill a steak.

The burgers are juicy and delicious, too.

Take a day trip to Glennville and visit Saddle Sore Saloon. It's open weekdays from 11 AM to 8 PM; Saturday 8 AM to 8 PM; Sunday 8 AM to 6 PM.
