This Charming Root Beer Restaurant In Northern California Will Take You Back In Time

There's nothing better with a burger and fries than frosty mug of root beer. And at some point in your life, you've definitely enjoyed a can of A&W Root Beer. But did you know that this root beer brand was born in Northern California? The very first A&W opened its doors in Lodi, and it's still around today. And the shop is dedicated to root beer (of course). You can visit this historic location at 216 E Lodi Ave, Lodi, CA 95240.

From the outside, the A&W in Lodi looks like an ordinary store location.

But once you're inside, you're met with a restaurant that looks decidedly vintage.

Check out the giant Root Beer Bear that greets you. This mascot was first introduced to patrons in 1974.

The restaurant is also filled with trinkets like this, which are showing their age but makes you feel all the more nostalgic.

Of course, you can't leave without trying one of A&W's famous root beer drinks.

The root beer flows generously all day long, so keep going back to the tap for more until you get your fill.

Although root beer is what gave A&W its fame, the food is also delicious. With a juicy patty, melty cheese, and crisp onions, this burger is a winner.

Top off the meal with a side of cheese curds.

Or if you're not in the mood for a burger, this mouthwatering hot dog covered in cheese is sure to make your tummy happy.

This isn't the only famous restaurant in Northern California. For more delicious finds, check these out.
