This Is My Favorite Food in Arizona—This Is The One Place You Have to Go to Try It
My favorite food in Arizona is tacos, and I love ordering them at The Mexicano, and you will, too.
If there's a perfect food, it's tacos—at least that's the case for me. I absolutely LOVE tacos; in my world, they are in their own food group. So, what's my favorite taco spot in Arizona? As someone who lives in Phoenix and loves a fun dining experience alongside my food, I would say The Mexicano. This restaurant offers a unique selection of flavorful tacos, entertainment, and other surprises, and it's a place I love returning to.

When I stepped into The Mexicano for the first time a few years ago, I was blown away by its incredibly fun and festive atmosphere. I could see why it's such a popular spot. The laughter and chatter from the boisterous patrons told me that this place was different from others.
The restaurant also offers entertainment while you dine. Not only have I been here when a mariachi band was playing music, but I've also seen a fire dancer. On other nights, there may be a DJ on the schedule. Anything seems to go here, and that makes this place so fun!

The Mexicano by Chef Joey, whose restaurant group, The Maggiore Group, has several other restaurant concepts, including The Italiano, The Sicilian Butcher, The Sicilian Baker, The Rosticceria, and Hash Kitchen, is a one-of-a-kind restaurant I happen to love. I've been to other restaurants run by Chef Joey's group, but The Mexicano is my favorite.

I'll start with the drinks before I get to the tacos. This Mexican-inspired restaurant has an entire margarita menu, including a Spicy Margarita with poblano and a Peach & Habanero Margarita. But if you love margaritas and it's your first time here, I highly suggest you take advantage of the Build-Your-Own Margarita Bar, the first of its kind in Arizona. How it works is you order a margarita and add your toppings, like gummy candies and fresh fruit. Then, you choose a novelty straw, and you're all set! You can even opt for a souvenir pinata cup to take home.
Now, onto the tacos... As I said before (and will say again to anyone who will listen), I love tacos. And I happen to love the tacos at The Mexicano. You can order them a la carte or a set of three with a side of rice and beans. Among my favorites here are the Chicken Tinga with braised chipotle chicken, crema, queso fresco, pico de Gallo, and cabbage, and the Baja Shrimp with beer-battered shrimp, poblano cream, pico de Gallo, and queso fresco.

The unique flavors of The Mexicano's tacos go beyond those of a traditional taco. The Chicken Tinga, especially, has that spice and flavor I crave! I always order it when I come here.
I really enjoy dining at The Mexicano. Not only are the tacos incredible, but the unique dining experience you can have here is unparalleled. I mean, where else can you find a make-your-own margarita bar? To see a menu and to check out what's on for Happy Hour, visit the official website of The Mexicano. You can also give The Mexicano's Facebook page a follow for updates.
