A Funeral Home Is Now Arizona’s Best Pizza Place

You probably wouldn't know just by entering the posh digs of Reilly Craft Pizza and Drink that its upscale vibes are hiding a secret, and what a fascinating secret it is! This unique restaurant in Arizona is housed in what was once a funeral home. That's right — a funeral home. While the emphasis is certainly on the cuisine and cocktails, I find the background history of the building to be one of its most interesting features.

In 1906, a funeral home was built at 101 E Pennington St. in Tucson. It's a beautiful building with vaulted ceilings, stained-glass windows, and wood flooring. By 1990, Reilly Funeral Home was no longer and it stood there in downtown Tucson, abandoned for many years.

In 2012, brothers Tyler and Zach Fenton renovated the old funeral home and transformed it into Reilly Craft Pizza & Drink.

This upscale pizzeria has maintained much of the building's original historic architecture, making it one of the most unique restaurants in Arizona.

Now the food is as elevated as the restaurant's ambiance. Here you can enjoy a selection of artisan pizza, pastas, salads, and small plates.

From the Pepperoni & Pickled Fresno Chile pizza to the Bacon & Egg pizza, these flavorful pies are worth the indulgence. And, if you'd like something more surprising, order the Crew's Whim pizza, a special that changes every week.

While dining indoors is always an option, you may also want to grab a drink on Reilly's rooftop bar or in the beer garden where you'll find a selection of 20 beers and wine on tap along with a full bar.

There's also a basement bar called the Tough Luck Club. This speakeasy-style bar has a rotating menu of unique and classic cocktails and is a fantastic option for a night out with friends.
