Born in a Barn, 415 US Highway 14, Sheridan, Wyoming

This once-a-year market takes place for two days on a gorgeous spread about 6 miles south of Sheridan on US-14. It's a beautiful compound that's also used to host weddings so you get both an aesthetically pleasing experience and some great shopping in one spot.

This arts, crafts, and antiques market was literally born in a barn in 2011.

Started as the idea to be a place for artisans and appreciators of distinctive and vintage items to come together, Born in a Barn has taken on a life of its own.

As more creatives have flocked to the event, it has become one of the most important happenings in Wyoming and one that is highly anticipated.

Although this epic market started in the barn, it wasn't long before it spilled out into the surrounding yard.

There are so many vendors they couldn't all be contained in one space, no matter how gorgeous.

Vendors and visitors come from all over Wyoming as well as from other states for this two-day sale each year.

We recommend you arrive early because it's going to get busy and you don't want vendors selling out before you can snag something unique and wonderful.

For the vendors, it's an opportunity to showcase and sell the unique items they've created, whether they're gently used and lovingly refurbished...

...or handcrafted themselves.

For shoppers, it's an opportunity to purchase something truly special and to support small, local business owners.

You never know what treasures await at Born in a Barn, from antiques...

...to clothing...

...to homemade candles and soaps and revamped furniture...

...to all sorts of one-of-a-kind handmade items.

The folks at Born in a Barn firmly believe that everything is useful and can be salvaged...

...and worth refurbishing to be given a second life.

Not only is this inspiring from a creative perspective, it's eco-friendly too. You can save the environment while filling your home with beautiful handmade items. Best of all, many of them are one-of-a-kind so you never have to worry about someone else having the same thing.

The decorative items, clothing, and housewares the vendors come up with are extraordinary. There is just so much to see, you'll need to plan on spending both days at the barn.

Best of all, the event is about so much more than shopping. It's about community and connection and you can go for the social experience as much as the market.

In addition to all of the vendors and their wonderful wares, you can take your pick of delicious treats from any of several food booths and relax in the beautiful Wyoming outdoors...

...while enjoying some down-home live music. All in all, it's a great way to spend a weekend!
