13 Marvels in Wisconsin That Must Be Seen To Be Believed

Wisconsin has some incredible sites that you need to see in person to truly appreciate. In the past, we profiled some of the best natural wonders in Wisconsin. This list has some of our greatest architectural sites, as well as natural sites.

1. Big Manitou Falls

The largest waterfall in Wisconsin, it rumbles 165 feet into the Black River. There are super amazing scenic overlooks you can get of the water gushing.

2. Devil's Lake State Park (Baraboo)

This incredible state park surrounds a 360 acre park. Bluffs and interesting rock formations make hiking this the very best.

3. Pewits Nest (Baraboo)

Pewits Nest is a deep gorge that was formed by a glacier.

4. The Trollway (Mount Horeb)

Mount Horeb is the troll capital of the world. Trolls line streets and homes.

5. Apostle Islands (Bayfield)

The Apostle Islands include 21 islands on Lake Superior. Sea caves and sandy beaches make this a must-see.

6. Cave of the Mounds (Blue Mounds)

This natural limestone cave has been a tourist attraction for the last 75 years.

7. High Cliff State Park (Sherwood)

The rock formation here (Niagara Escarpment) is part of the same rock formation that goes to Niagara Falls (New York).

8. Horicon Marsh (Horicon)

This is the largest freshwater cattail marsh in the United States. A lovely boardwalk allows you to walk out over the water.

9. Lambeau Field (Green Bay)

Lambeau Field is the very best football stadium in Wisconsin. It might even be the greatest sports mecca in the world.

10. Elroy-Sparta Trail (32 miles between these towns)

What is now the Elroy-Sparta bike trail now was once a railroad trail. The route has 3 tunnels and goes through gorgeous scenery.

11. Ice Age Trail (1,000 miles throughout the state)

The Ice Age trail is great for a simple hike or extreme backpacking. It is only one of eleven national scenic trails.

12. Taliesin (Spring Green)

Taliesin east was Frank Lloyd Wright's estate. There are a number of tours you can take of the house and the gardens.

13. Chain O' Lakes (Waupaca County)

Talk about water everywhere--there are a total of 22 lakes. There might not be clearer lakes anywhere else.
