The Caperton Trail is a well-known, miles-long trail located in Morgantown, West Virginia that offers some of the most stunning views. The trail is designed mainly for pedestrians and cyclists and runs parallel to the Monongahela River, making it a must-visit attraction on any trip to Morgantown.

The Caperton Trail was named after Hugh Caperton, a lawyer, and philanthropist who has helped the trail to become one of Morgantown's best assets.

The trail is surfaced with asphalt, making it easy for people to walk, run, or bike on it. The trail connects with several other trails, including Deckers Creek Trail and Mon River Trail, making it the perfect place for those who love to explore.

Along the trail, you will also come across several historical landmarks, including the Monongahela River Locks and Dam at the the Mountaineer Heritage/Caperton Trail Parks. Additionally, the Caperton Trail passes through the WVU Core Arboretum.

It catches the Hazel Ruby McQuain Park. You can even connect to Cobun Creek Reservoir in the White Park complex.
