West Virginia’s Singing Tree Is A Unique Place To Visit

We've long "sung" the praises of the Caperton Trail, an outdoor playground that stretches along the Mon River from Morgantown to Star City in West Virginia. Well, when we did our research for that article, we quickly realized that there was one site tucked away along this amazing rail trail that we knew deserved a closer look: the Singing Tree of Diversity. This Singing Tree is a unique mosaic in West Virginia with its own special story to tell.

The “Singing Tree of Diversity” is a beautiful piece of local artwork located along the Caperton Trail in Morgantown, West Virginia.

This Singing Tree that is as unique as the state of West Virginia itself was designed by Morgantown artist Debora Palmer.

Under Palmer's oversight, the Singing Tree of Diversity came together as the result of a collaborative work featuring more than 300 participants from all around the area.

The stunning mosaic is a unique, colorful take on the diversity of the city of Morgantown, including the city's strength and beauty.

You can find it right behind the West Virginia University Downtown Visitors Center.

And the "Singing Tree of Diversity" isn't local artist Debora Palmer's only mosaic featured along the Caperton Trail!

There's also the "All Around Town" mosaic perched between the Hazel Ruby McQuain Park amphitheater and the Deckers Creek footbridge, near the Caperton Trail restrooms.

Not only is the scenery of wild, wonderful West Virginia beautiful, so is the art tucked away in the Mountain State's many unique towns!
