This Roadside Attraction In Washington Is The Most Unique Thing You’ve Ever Seen

We've got some pretty quirky roadside attractions here in Washington, which is one of the many reasons that road trips are so amazing here. But it's not every day that you look out your car window and see the world's largest egg towering above you. But if you drive through Winlock, that's exactly what you'll find.

Winlock is a small town of about 1,400 people in Lewis County.

It's about 45 miles south of Olympia.

The World's Largest Egg sits on a pedestal on a pole in the grassy median running through the center of town.

It's impossible to miss.

Winlock was America's second largest egg producing town until the 1950s, and they're still pretty proud of their egg-producing abilities.

The first egg was created in 1923 to celebrate the opening of the Pacific Highway.

It was replaced by a plastic version in 1944, then upgraded to fiberglass in the 1960s.

The egg has been modified over the years. It was painted like an American flag after 9/11, and most recently it bore the Seahawks logo.

You can see it for yourself on the third weekend of June, when Winlock hosts its annual Egg Days festival.

Of course, you can't have the egg without the chicken, which is why you'll see chicken and rooster statues around town.

Washington is definitely a little weird... and that's exactly how we like it.
