Dorky’s Arcade In Washington With 114 Vintage Games Will Bring Out Your Inner Child

Dorky's Arcade in Tacoma offers a nostalgic gaming experience with vintage arcade games, pizza, and beer.

Have you ever wished to go back to a time when life was a little simpler? While actual time travel is still impossible, you can always go back and relive your youth at Dorky's Arcade in Tacoma. For nearly a decade, this quirky spot has been a local gamer's paradise -- and they also happen to serve tasty pizza and beer.

Dorky's Arcade opened in 2010 on Pacific Avenue in Tacoma, where it remains today.

Owners Les Voros-Bond and Caroline Dennewith planned the opening for several years, investing in vintage games and scoping out the space.

Inside you'll find all kinds of classic arcade games, including pinball and air hockey.

There are at least 114 games here, with new options being brought in fairly frequently.

If you ever went to arcades in the 80s, you'll probably recognize quite a few of the games here.

From Galaga to Dig Dug, Pole Position, Star Wars, Spy Hunter, and the Star wars Battlepod, there's truly something for everyone.

So, why open a vintage arcade instead of a more modern selection? One word: Nostalgia.

The owners thought the slightly older crowd would love playing games from the past, while young people could fall in love with them for the first time.

And when you get hungry or thirsty, there's no need to leave.

Dorky's has an impressive pizza menu as well as daily food specials, like homemade soups and Taco Tuesday tacos.

The team here loves beer, and it shows -- you'll have a great selection of both beer and cider to choose from if you decide to imbibe.

That being said, the arcade is family-friendly and all ages are welcome during the day.

Dorky's Arcade is open Tuesday - Sunday, although hours vary.

They're open until midnight on weekdays, and on Friday and Saturday, you can play until 2 a.m. On Friday and Saturday nights, Dorky's hosts live DJs for those 21 and over with no cover charge. Playing old school video games has never felt so cool.

Have you ever checked out Dorky's Arcade? While you're in Tacoma, make sure to stop by this tiki bar as well.
