This Unassuming Region Of Virginia Is Now An Acclaimed Foodie Destination

The past decade has seen an incredible expansion of the dining scene here in Virginia. Seemingly small towns are now critically acclaimed foodie destinations, and it's a trend we don't expect will stop anytime soon. In fact, a historically rural and oftentimes overlooked region of the state is now making headlines for its cuisine. While it's always been on the map for hikers, outdoor lovers, and history buffs, the Shenandoah Valley of western Virginia is now calling the name of food lovers, too. So take a look at some of the fine dining and authentic cuisine you can look forward to enjoying the next time you visit this lovable region:

The Shenandoah Valley is known for its green pastures, gentle rolling hills, and the proximity of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Relatively few people know about the other major draw to this corner of Virginia: the food.

To begin with, we'll introduce the seemingly modest Réunion Bakery & Espresso Bar in Staunton, Virginia.

In addition to serving killer coffee drinks, this spot also mades an incredible array of croissants from scratch. Folks swear by these flaky pastries, which could rival just about any in France.
