The Festival of Fools is a wacky street festival that brings together the best street performers from Vermont and beyond for a weekend of craziness. It’s an annual event that you won’t want to miss.
The festival is happening in August and will be held right in downtown Burlington. For three days, the town’s streets will be overrun with performers of all shapes and sizes.
You’ll see acrobats balancing on sky-high poles, dancers swinging from aerial silks, clowns twisting balloons into crazy shapes, and steel-drum bands laying down some truly infectious beats. Don’t forget the juggling acts, comedians, and contortionists!
This festival is basically like a giant circus. There’s something for the whole family. In fact, more than 100,000 visitors are expected to stop by and take in the show!
The performances and events at this festival are free for all visitors and totally open to the public. All you need to do is wander down the street and enjoy the acrobatic feats, catchy music, and other discoveries.
Five larger stages will be set up at Church Street Marketplace, Club Metronome, Nectar’s, Red Square, and the Vermont Comedy Club. Drop by to catch musical acts and shows.
