1. Green River Reservoir
This isn't your ordinary State Park! Here you'll find the 653-acre Green River Reservoir which includes 19 miles of shoreline with remote and private campsites. It's designated by law as a "quiet lake," which means no boats are allowed except for the kind you row or paddle.
2. Groton State Forest
Take your pick of off the grid spots in the Groton State Forest! Groton State Forest covers 26,164 acres in the towns of Danville, Groton, Marshfield, Orange, Peacham, Plainfield and Topsham. There are a whopping SEVEN State Parks including Big Deer State Park, Boulder Beach State Park, Kettle Pond State Park, New Discovery State Park, Ricker Pond State Park, Seyon Lodge State Park and Stillwater State Park.
3. Little River State Park
While Waterbury is fairly accessible right off Route 89, the Little River State Park is in a world of its own. There is no wifi here, but you may be able to get a spotty cell phone reception at the sandy day beach. But don't count on it!
4. Lye Brook Wilderness Area
One of the most remote spots in all of Vermont is the Lye Brook Wilderness Area. Located within the Green Mountain National Forest, you'll love hiking through the peaceful trails and the waterfall is especially magical.
