Vermonters are always looking for a great adventure, and if we find one at a bargain price, even better. The Merck Forest & Farmland Center is a magical farm that's located in a 3,100-acre forest that's filled with hiking trails, cabins and some of the most stunning views you'll find in the Green Mountain State. The kids (and adults!) love the animals on the farm and the lively demonstrations you'll find here. If you're looking for an awesome activity in VT that won't break the bank, this is it!
The friendly and dedicated staff here is committed to teaching about land sustainability.
The woods and mountains are breathtaking all seasons, and luckily it's open year round!
The animals at the barn are always a big hit with the cuteness factor. Who doesn't love baby farm animals?
There are over 30 miles of hiking trails here. From easy one mile treks to overnight camping destinations, there is something for everyone.
The visitors center has loads of great information so be sure to stop in.

There is also U-Pick raspberries, blackberries, black raspberries & blueberries.
It's one of the most scenic spots to pick your own berries this summer.
You can also stock up on some organic maple syrup made right there on the farm at their sugaring operation.

On August 5th, Bob Amos & the Catamount Crossing will be playing outside across from the Sap house and admission is free! So, tell all of your friends and family and head there to enjoy a fun filled evening. Be sure to bring a lawn chair or blanket and feel free to bring a picnic dinner as well.
(Rain location is inside the sap house)
