A True Utahn Has Marked These 9 Destinations Off Of Their Bucket List

Did you know there are many Utahns who have never explored this great state of ours? We have some of the most incredible bucket-list-worthy attractions in the Beehive State, but some Utahns have never seen them in person. There are even certain attractions and natural features in Utah that cause us to ask … if you haven’t seen these bucket-list-worthy attractions in person, are you even a real Utahn? Well, here are nine destinations that we believe every Utahn should have marked off their bucket list.

1. Dead Horse Point Overlook, Dead Horse Point State Park

Did you know one of the most photographed overlooks in the entire world is found in Utah? The overlook at Dead Horse Point State definitely deserves a spot on your bucket list as you’ll capture the most stunning views of buttes, mesas, and the Colorado River.

2. Spiral Jetty, Great Salt Lake

It’s quite remarkable how many Utahns don’t know about the Spiral Jetty, located on the Great Salt Lake. This is actually a unique outdoor art installation by artist Robert Smithson from the 1970s. The piece of artwork is quite unique as it is 1,500 feet long, 15 feet wide, and consists of more than 6,000 tons of black basalt rock.

3. Bear Lake

The minute you arrive at Bear Lake, you’ll be mesmerized. This lake consists of the most gorgeous turquoise water and it is often referred to as the "Caribbean of the Rockies." Once you visit, you'll never want to leave.

4. Heber Valley Railroad, Heber City

One activity that should be on every Utahn's bucket list is to take a ride on the Heber Valley Railroad. The train rides and scenic routes vary but no matter what time of year you visit and where you go, you’ll never forget this experience.

5. Homestead Crater, Heber City

Homestead Crater is one destination that every Utahn should visit at least once. From the outside it doesn’t look like much — it is just a large dome-shaped mound covered with grass. However, walk inside and you’ll find a large geothermal pool with water that ranges between 90 and 96 degrees Fahrenheit.

6. Delicate Arch, Arches National Park

Delicate Arch is one of the most well-known and iconic landmarks in the state. In fact, this arch is likely on your vehicle’s license plate. But, have you taken the hike to see it in person? If not, pack up your bags and go — you won’t regret it.

7. This is the Place Heritage Park, Salt Lake City

Located at the mouth of Emigration Canyon is a beautiful park that features a charming historic village, gorgeous views, and more. Here, you can learn a little more about Utah’s history and the people who settled our wonderful state. Make sure to visit this park during the holiday season as the entire park turns into a true old-fashioned Christmas village.

8. Zion Canyon Overlook, Zion National Park

One of the most well-known overlooks in southern Utah is the Zion Canyon Overlook. In this area of the national park, you can capture the most stunning panoramic views of Zion Canyon. Just don't forget your hiking boots as you'll have a bit of a hike to reach this scene.

9. Timpanogos Cave National Monument, American Fork Canyon

This is another bucket-list-worthy destination that requires a little physical exertion and some hiking boots, but the reward is unforgettable. A 1.5-mile trail will take you to one of the most incredible caves in Utah. You’ll see all types of interesting cave formations and gorgeous views as you hike.
