The world is full of ancient wonders that many of us will never get a chance to see in person, one of the most notable being Stonehenge. This iconic architectural marvel was used by the neolithic peoples of England to tell time. - and you can visit a near-exact replica, called Stonehenge II, right here in Texas.

When you look at this picture, you might think you're viewing one of the world's most iconic landmarks in England...

...but it's actually a near-exact replica of the famous Stonehenge right here in Ingram, Texas.

The monument was erected in the early 1990s by Al Sheppard and his neighbor, Doug Hill.

It was originally located on the pasture Sheppard owned in the tiny town of Hunt, but was moved to Ingram after the architect's death.

Not only will you take a mental trip to Britain, but also to the exotic, mysterious Easter Island - Sheppard added two of the destination's famed heads after taking a trip there.

The property is always open for self-guided tours, and offers a sign explaining the project in great detail.

If you visit as the sun is setting, you'll get a feel for how time was told in neolithic times. It's definitely a surreal experience.
