You’d Never Know There Is A Zipline Hiding In This 2-Million-Acre Forest In Texas

New York, Texas ZipLine Adventures offers an exhilarating zipline experience in the dense forest landscape of the Piney Woods, suitable for families and adventure seekers.

One of the best ziplines in Texas is hiding way out east in the dense forest landscape of the Piney Woods. New York, Texas ZipLine Adventures in LaRue takes you soaring over 100 feet above the treetops for an exhilarating experience you won't soon forget. The attraction is fun, family-friendly, and the views are unlike anything you've ever seen before.

You'll find New York, Texas ZipLine Adventures on the northern edge of the Davy Crockett National Forest. This ecoregion is known as the "Piney Woods," which is home to the approximately two-million-acre Big Thicket National Preserve.

Although the boundaries for the Big Thicket are imprecise, the town of LaRue is widely considered to be part of the sprawling wilderness area. Semantics aside, this part of Texas is rugged, pristine, and untouched in many places, and this unique attraction is positioned right in the heart of it all.

The actual zipline facility is perched on a hilltop, surrounded by acres upon acres of dense forestland. It's the only break in the sea of greenery for miles, and you'll hardly believe your eyes when you see it for the first time.

Since the minimum age requirement to zip is just five years, this activity is as family-friendly as it gets. Experienced guides lead participants through a thorough training session prior to the tour, so you'll know exactly how to maneuver when you're up in the air.

After training is over, it's time to soar through the trees! You'll zip from one platform to another on several different lines, the longest of which is over 900 feet.

The course is suspended over 100 feet above the ground, taking you high above the forest canopy for one of the most exhilarating experiences of your life.

Just wait until you see the views from the platforms that connect each zipline to the next. They function like observation decks, allowing participants to enjoy a few moments of stillness and take in the awe-inspiring scenery.

There are also two short hikes between the last two platforms that let you further commune with nature.

Each tour lasts roughly 1.5-2 hours. Guests are asked to arrive 30 minutes prior to their appointment to allow plenty of time for check-in.

Don't forget to take advantage of the fun photo-op...

...and take advantage of the outdoor seating area. Spend a few minutes decompressing after your zipline tour and admiring the beautiful East Texas views!
