Pigeon Forge is one of the best towns in America. Just one trip down the Parkway and you will know that this town is very different -- in all the best ways. With its proximity to the mountains, this town is a hot spot for vacationers and locals alike. There are so many attractions packed into such a small space, it feels like you could spend forever trying to find the best ones. That's where we come in. We've put together the following list of our favorite attractions in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
No list of attractions would be complete without mentioning Dollywood.
This major theme park is nestled near the Smoky Mountains and gives a stunning backdrop for a day of family fun. The park does a phenomenal job of decorating for different seasons and keeping things fresh and new. There are rides ranging from kiddie all the way up to big thrill seekers. Many people will go for the shows alone and it is well worth the trip. Ride the authentic steam train, take in the sights, and eat some delicious cinnamon bread for a great day at Dollywood. You could also pair it with Dollywood Splash Country which is a separate waterpark on the property and cool off on a hot summer day.
As if the Parkway in Pigeon Forge wasn’t crazy enough you will find a building that looks like it was hurled from the sky and landed on its roof.
This is Wonderworks and you can think of it as an indoor amusement park or you could call it a science museum because it is a little bit of both. With over 100 hands-on exhibits you can easily spend hours at this mind-bending attraction.
You can challenge your mind at Wonderworks but if you want to work your muscles then Paula Dean’s Lumberjack Feud is the place for you.
This wild attraction can take you on a series of lumberjack-themed challenges. Balance on a rolling log over water, scale the towering structures, and take to the sky with the adventure course. If you are terrified of heights then the lumberjack show is perfect for you. Leave it to the professionals to chop wood, compete in challenges, and proudly display their flannel colors.
Being in a landlocked state, it’s not every day you see a major cruise ship in Tennessee, especially a famous one from the early 1900s, but then again it is Pigeon Forge.
The Titanic Museum is a half-scale replica of the real ship that sunk that one faithful night. Take a step back into history with over 400 artifacts giving you a deeper appreciation of this historical event. Inside you will find that there is a full replica of the Grand Staircase to further immerse yourself in the story of the Titanic.
Sitting at the heart of all of the action is The Island in Pigeon Forge.
It may seem like a strange name for a place surrounded by bustling city attractions but The Island is an oasis for all things entertainment. Take a ride on the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel, ride some rides, shop at the dozens of unique stores, or simply kick back and watch the fountain show. No visit is complete without a trip to The Island.
When you have become exhausted from all of the fun during the daylight hours the fun doesn’t have to stop when the sun goes down, but eventually, you will need somewhere to rest your head.
We think that Camp Margaritaville is an excellent place to stay. You can bring your campers to this RV park, or you can stay in the lodge for a nice relaxing place to sleep for the night. However, with the fantastic pool and Fin City Entertainment Center, you might not want to go to bed any time soon.
