The Stunning Campus in Tennessee That Looks Just Like Hogwarts

The campus of Sewanee University is one of the most Harry Potter-themed places in Tennessee. Not intentionally, of course, but just one look at this stunning campus will bring to mind the magical school known as Hogwarts. Seeing the tall castle walls, towers, and brilliant stonework makes for an incredible scene. The best part is that you can walk the grounds and allow your imagination to run wild among the tall spires and stone architecture. One thing is abundantly clear: a trip to the University of the South is purely magical.

The university is located in the town of Sewanee, which is about an hour west of Chattanooga.

The grounds have several older buildings, like All Saints Chapel and Gailor Hall. All of them have a distinct castle feel to them. Unlike the world of Harry Potter, you will only find muggles at this college. Walking the grounds can be a mesmerizing experience. Looking up at the soaring towers and ornately decorated buildings is a fascinating sight to behold here in Tennessee, as these buildings appear to have been plucked from a medieval era in Europe.

The All Saints Chapel displays the most Hogwarts similarities. The tall, vaulted ceilings and beautifully crafted stonework around the building are second to none. There are intriguing details from the stones to the placement of windows to the overall design. These buildings are unlike anything else found here in Tennessee.

Inside the chapel, you are greeted with massive pillars, tall ceilings, and stunning stained glass windows that are works of art. The whole place feels like it would be packed with hidden passages and moving paintings. You will find normal light sources in the church, but you can easily picture floating candles lighting the sanctuary. If you allow your mind to wander, you can even see how this old church could house hidden rooms filled with mystical creatures.

When you see the aerial view of the campus, you might expect to see students flying around on brooms practicing for the next Quidditch match. The grounds of the university are quite a sight to see.

With lush green plant life, perfectly manicured lawns, curvy pathways, and mighty castles, this has got to be one of the most impressive architectural and design in all of Tennessee.

Is it Hogwarts Sewanee University? Even though it isn't the famous school for wizards, it does seem to be the most Harry Potter-themed place in Tennessee. The only wizardry found on this campus is in the brilliant design of the buildings. Everywhere you look, it makes the fantastical world of magic seem real.
