Summer's hottest days mean we're all on the hunt for the best way to stay cool. Some of us (raising hand) prefer to sit in front of a fan on full-blast in the A/C while others live for soaking up the sun and cooling off in the water at the beach or our favorite waterpark. Even if you're like me and usually prefer the A/C, add a float down this lazy river in Hershey, Pennsylvania, to your summer to-do list. It's one of the most relaxing days to stay cool on a scorching day.
A hot summer day at Hersheypark inevitably means a few hours lounging poolside, zipping down slides, and floating along the lazy river at The Boardwalk Waterpark.
The 11-acre waterpark promises tons of fun for visitors of all ages.
If you're all in for a day of fun in the water, consider renting a waterside cabana, where you'll have a private table, chairs, and a refrigerator. Private cabanas come with a variety of perks, too, including complimentary water bottles, a beach towel, a beach bag, and suntan lotion.
Cabanas are available for rent from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.
One of the best perks, though, just might be the special access to enter and leave the Intercoastal Waterway, the 1,360-foot lazy river that offers beautiful views of the coasters at Hersheypark.
Float along the lazy river, which features a pool depth of just two feet, as many times as you want, soaking up the sun as you pass under bridges and past tumbling waterfalls.
While you can easily spend your entire visit floating, you might also want to explore more of The Boardwalk's 15 attractions. Cool off as you wait for the waves to kick up at the wave pool.
Or get a massive adrenaline rush by zipping down one of the slides.
With its water curtains and slides, Sandcastle Cove was designed with the little ones in mind while daredevils of all ages can stand under a massive tipping bucket at Shoreline Sprayground.
When you need a break from all of that fun, refuel with a tasty bite from one of The Boardwalk's eateries. From burgers and hot dogs to donuts and Italian ice, the waterpark's restaurants offer something for every taste.
