Channel Your Creativity With A Tour Of America’s Largest Invention Factory, Inventionland In Pittsburgh
Inventionland in Pittsburgh is America's largest invention factory, designed to inspire creativity and innovation through its unique themed sets.
We're all creative in our own ways. How we channel that creativity, however, is as unique as we are as individuals. Whether you've got an invention you'd like assitance with or you just want to harness your creativity, you'll find no better place to do either, and more, than Inventionland in Pittsburgh.
The unassuming white building that houses Inventionland belies the magical world of creativity, inspiration, and innovation that lies within.
Billed as America's largest invention factory, Inventionland opened in 2006, the brainchild of George Davison.
Spanning more than 60,000 square feet, the invention factory's mission is simple yet powerful: "to inspire creativity, promote innovation, and foster education."
It accomplishes its goals in a few ways. Employees, for example, aren't relegated to solitary cubicles that can so easily drain one's inspiration and creativity.
Instead, the factory boasts 16 unique themed sets, each of which has a specific purpose. Themes are whimsical - a pirate ship, a giant shoe, and a castle, for example, the latter of which boasts three waterfalls.
Each set has its own mission, too. The Nursey Nook, for example, will make you feel as though you're in a real nursery. It's designed for those working on kids' products, like books and toys.
Concept Kitchen, pictured below, is all about inventing and creating products kitchen and cookware products.
