This Scenic Train Ride Is The Perfect Way To Enjoy The Oklahoma Countryside

Of all the fun and exciting things to do in Oklahoma, a train ride through the scenic countryside is on the top of my list. There is a passenger excursion train that will take you on a 2-hour ride in southwest Oklahoma that's unlike anything else in the state. The 2019 schedule will be announced shortly, and because dates sell out quickly, you'll want to buy your tickets as soon as possible.

The Quartz Mountain Flyer is a two-hour narrated trip that will take you through the stunning Quartz Mountains, around Lake Altus-Lugert, and along beautiful countryside. The Quartz Mountain Flyer Train Ride starts at the Quartz Mountain parking lot at SH44 & SH44A in Lone Wolf.
In mid to late January, they will announce the 2019 dates that are available for purchase, so follow their Facebook page to stay up-to-date (link below).
It's one of the coolest excursions to do in Oklahoma, as you'll get to experience the state's countryside in a whole new way.
The train ride is approximately 2 hours long, plus a 30 minute stopover in the town of Lone Wolf. You'll get to enjoy some snacks before heading back to the depot.
Along the route from from Quartz Mountain to Lone Wolf you'll see lakes, dam, mountains, farmland, and more.
The beautiful scenery in southwestern Oklahoma is so unique, you'll love looking out the windows at gorgeous topography.
The train boards at 9:30am., departs at 10:00am and arrives back to the station about 12:15 pm.
