Winter in North Dakota isn't exactly known for being warm (quite the opposite), but once you've been here for long enough, you come to realize that that's okay - there are some truly amazing things that can be done in the cold, and that's where Frostival comes in. This is the winter festival in North Dakota to end all winter festivals, and it's back in 2023!

When we say the annual Frostival winter festival in North Dakota is "epic", we mean it more than you know.

See, Frostival isn't just for one or two days or even a week. Nope, Frostival lasts for six straight weeks, and it's the ultimate celebration of all things winter.

Frostival is a complete delight for everyone, no matter how old (or young) they may be.

Each and every day holds something fun and unique (though there are some events that repeat because they're just that wonderful).

We can't even BEGIN to list them all here, but some of the highlights, we think, include fun stuff like:

Cardboard sled races, a chili cook-off, a winter birding mini-festival, movies on ice, block parties, a snow sculpture competition, and SO much more.

Bring old friends and make new friends, or have the whole family come along on multiple days for the ultimate memory-making.

Frostival is not relegated to just one location, either. You'll find festivities scattered across several North Dakota towns and cities.

Fargo, Moorhead, and the entire surrounding area is all fair game.

So, sure, maybe winter in North Dakota can be a little harsh, but that absolutely does NOT mean it can't be magical.

Sometimes, it's all about what you make of it, and in this case, making the best of harsh winters sounds like the best idea ever.
