The One Place In Charlotte That Transforms Into A Magical Harry Potter Wonderland

On January 19, 2018, one of the best Harry Potter themed events ever is coming to the QC. The Discovery Place Science Museum in Uptown Charlotte will be hosting a version of their adults-only "Science on the Rocks" with a special theme of Wizarding World — a tribute to the great Harry Potter.

If you are an adult in Charlotte and have been a fan since the beginning, then mark your calendars for the night of your life!

"Science on the Rocks" is an adults-only program hosted by Discovery Place on the third Friday of each month.

The museum, whose exhibits are normally geared towards children, gives adults the opportunity to walk the floors and explore while enjoying delicious adult beverages and partaking in games and exhibits put together specifically for an adult audience. Exhibits still focus on science, but offer grown-ups a chance to learn something new at a more advanced level than what is usually offered for the kids.

This January, Discovery Place is giving grown-up Harry Potter fans a dream experience via "Science on the Rocks" Wizarding World.

Attendees are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite Harry Potter character for the chance to win the Wizards Duel Costume Contest.

And there will be plenty of exhibits themed after the magical world of wizardry.

Storytellers in costume will recount many famous scenes from Harry Potter for the audience.

A realistic looking Owlery will let visitors see the magical creatures up close and personal as they walk through the museum.

A SkillPop instructor will be on hand to teach those interested how to perfect your quill calligraphy...

...you wouldn't want McGonagall to give you a failing grade on your next essay!

There will be TriWizard Trivia games happening all night...

...and if you're lucky, a crystal ball may just predict your future.

Harry Potter themed stamps and goodies will be given out to museum visitors.

And Butterbeer Slushies, Chinese Fireball Popcorn, and Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans will be available for snacking.

The popular game of Quidditch has been transformed to a ping pong version for this event.

Challenge your friends to a game of Quidditch Pitch Pong to keep things interesting.

The "Science on the Rocks" Wizarding World is a great way to get out and have some fun with friends.

Take your turn trying on a Try on the Sorting Hat to help your house earn points for the House Cup.

"Science on the Rocks" is an awesome way to experience some of the museum's coolest exhibits.

Like the one-of-a-kind Da Vinci's Machines exhibit that features more than 75 different inventions reconstructed from Leonardo Da Vinci's historic illustrations and writings.

Tickets for Discovery Place's "Science on the Rocks" Wizarding World can be found on the Discovery Place website. All guests must be 21 or older to attend and IDs will be checked at the door.
