The One Of A Kind Festival You Won’t Find Anywhere But Charlotte
There is one fall festival opening this weekend in Charlotte that is truly one-of-a-kind. The Chinese Lantern Festival at Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens is a must see event, and a festival you won't find anywhere else. One of our city's most beautiful gardens is transformed into a magical wonderland full of bright colored Chinese Lanterns creating a brilliant display of beauty in the garden at night.
The Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden is a 380-acre garden near Charlotte that draws visitors and tourists from all over North Carolina.
Located on lakefront property at Lake Wylie, the Garden is open all year long and cultivates plants, greenery and flora for all four seasons of the year.
The garden is already an amazing place by day.
With its sprawling grounds, exquisite water features, and boundless colored plants and flowers, visitors can spend all day here marveling in the wonder of its beauty.
And as beautiful as this garden is during the day, you may not be able to imagine it getting any prettier...
...but it does. On September 7 - October 29, the Garden transforms into a beautifully lit wonderworld.
Stunning handcrafted Chinese Lanterns fill the Garden and light up the night for visitors who attend the festival.
The theme of this year's festival is "Into the Wild."
The doors open at 5:30 p.m. every night and festival goers can walk through the garden and see artful Chinese Lantern Displays that exemplify the artists' ideas of walking "Into the Wild."
Amazing paper lanterns have been crafted to look like tigers, panda bears, lions, flamingos and more.
These lanterns are illuminated against the night sky, creating a warm and magical glow in the garden.
Some displays even mimic real plants and flora you might see in the garden during the day.
And you'll likely find them just as beautiful as the real thing.
In addition to the beautiful lanterns, there are nightly activities for everyone in the family to enjoy.
There's a Kung-Fu show followed by personal coaching sessions for those who want to learn more about the art of Kung-Fu. There is also a Shadow Play each night and many other family activities to keep the kids engaged and entertained.
A line up of food trucks will be at the garden each night, ready to serve dinner from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., so you won't have to worry about getting hungry while at this show.
The Chinese Lantern Festival at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden is one of the most unique things you will find in Charlotte this fall.
Take the whole family out of a night of wonder and beauty. We know everyone will leave the garden completely amazed.
Advanced tickets are available online on the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden website for $21.95 for adults and $14.95 for children. Tickets at the door cost $24.95 for adults and $15.95 for children.
