Sadly, as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to be prevalent here in New York State, major annual events like our Cherry Blossom Festival have been forced to cancel. While you may be devastated to miss out on exploring Delaware Park's Japanese Garden and strolling underneath the beautiful blossoms, you'll find that there's a new way to virtually enjoy the beauty of Mother Nature in Buffalo. Although our residents won't be able to enjoy the beautiful blossoms in person this year, the Buffalo Cherry Blossom Festival has announced that a virtual tour experience will be made available to those of us longing to enjoy this favorite springtime event.

Thanks to the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy, the Buffalo History Museum, and Friends of the Japanese Garden, the virtual program will be hosted on Saturday, May 2, 2020 to replace this year's festival.

While we're used to gathering en masses in Delaware Park and the Japanese Garden to experience the wonderful world of our Cherry Blossom Festival...

...this year, you'll be able to tour our city's cherry blossoms all from the comfort of your couch.

Showcasing behind-the-scenes videos of the cherry blossom blooms in the garden, Japanese music, and yes, even a Lockhouse-cocktail demonstration, you won't want to miss out on this unique virtual experience.
