The Enchanting Carousel Factory Near Buffalo The Whole Family Will Love Exploring

An attraction that combines both history and fun-filled rides, there's a factory museum not too far from us that Buffalonians of all ages will enjoy. Bringing you only 20 minutes north of Buffalo, the small city of North Tonawanda has a rich history in carousel making that you might not have known about and has created a unique way for you to experience it all.

Located on Thompson Street, the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum has been open to the public for 35 years.

The entire museum is made up of a handful of buildings that all offer a great insight into the world of making carousels.

At the factory, you'll find a variety of historic carousel animals that are on display.

You'll even find your favorite amusement park rides from the past on display here, with everything from mini roller coasters to flying airplanes.

The factory features guided tours that showcase how wooden carousel horses are made and other pieces of the carousel making process.

The younger crowd and adults alike will enjoy the two operating carousels that are here and housed in the same building.

Taking you on a trip back through time, you'll even get to use wooden coins to get onto the carousels.

Everywhere you turn you'll stumble upon a unique piece of history, with even a band organ on display here.

In 2014 the museum even created an outdoor Kiddieland Testing Park!

The outdoor park features restored rides that visitors of the factory can "test" out for themselves.

Open all throughout the year, it's time you bring the whole family up to the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum in North Tonawanda.

From now through December 30th, the factory's hours are Wednesday through Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., with the Kiddieland Testing park now closed for the year.
