This Wine-Themed Train In New York Will Give You The Ride Of A Lifetime
The Adirondack Railroad's Beer & Wine Train in New York offers a scenic and tasty train ride experience featuring local wines and beers.
If you've ever typed "train rides near me in New York" into your search bar, you'll love this unique railroad adventure! You may remember us talking about New York's majestic mountain train ride, which is an especially beautiful ride to take during the summer when greenery abounds. But the Adirondack Railroad also features a variety of other themed train rides all year-round. There's one in particular that's our favorite - and hands down the most tasty. This Beer & Wine Train in New York is a local favorite for passengers aged 21 and over to indulge in some delicious wine or beer while watching the gorgeous scenery go by.
A popular attraction to experience during the spring, summer, and fall months, New York's beer & wine-themed train is right in the city of Utica - easily accessible from a handful of different regions in our state.
The train departs from Utica's Union Station. The historic station was originally built back in 1914 and has been recognized for being one of the most beautiful train stations in America.
Taking you from Utica up to the village of Remsen, the Adirondack Railroad has several Beer & Wine Train rides planned throughout the year.
The gorgeous 20-mile long ride allows guests to pick from different local wines and beers along the route from Utica to Remsen. Each trip features a different local winery.
With both coach and first class tickets available for the train ride, those on board will get to snack on award-winning cheese from Cabot Cheese while they enjoy remote views in Oneida County.
Light snacks are provided as well, along with additional snacks available for purchase. First Class passengers even enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres. It's a great way to spend an evening with friends!
While you're not busy enjoying the train ride and amazing scenery, you can visit the Cafe Car for a bite to eat or dance along to the live music that's also on the train.
Once you reach the Remsen train station, you'll have a nice 30-minute break to stretch your legs and explore the charming little gift shop that's here before you head back home.
This is a day trip you'll want to plan sooner rather than later, as the Beer & Wine train ride is popular and often sells out fast.
