Travelers Used To Flock To This Tiny New Mexico Village To Experience Its Hot Springs

Not too far from both Albuquerque and Santa Fe is a tiny village that makes a perfect day trip destination in New Mexico. With less than 200 residents, it's almost hard to believe that the village of Jemez Springs was once a hot spot for travelers to stop and take a dip in one of its many hot springs. Today, it's still a worthwhile place to visit. Let's take a look at these hot springs in New Mexico.

Jemez Springs is a small village in northern New Mexico. Due to its natural hot springs, it makes a perfect day trip destination.

In the 1870s, the Jemez Springs Bath House was originally built.

Here people would come and bathe in the hot spring, which is enclosed by rocks. The rocks were originally placed around the hot springs after a geyser erupted there.

The bath house created a bit of a draw to the area and those who were traveling the area would come and spend some time.

Eventually, Jemez Springs became a popular resort destination, and today, it still is!

People were drawn to the healing waters of the natural mineral hot springs here.

It became so popular that a tent town was created to house the visitors. And the rest, as they say, is history!

Today, the Jemez Springs Bath House is considered a State Historical Site and is worthy of a day trip. Travelers can still enjoy the hot springs found around this lovely village.
