There's unexpected history hiding around every corner in this country, and this decaying naval museum is a great example of that. This abandoned submarine museum in Hackensack, New Jersey is filled with reminders of our nation's past, including old war equipment and an actual submarine. This abandoned museum is the final resting place of the USS Ling.

The museum opened in the 1970s, and paid $1 a year in rent. In 2007, the owner of the land decided to redevelop the land, and informed the museum that it needed to move.

The submarine was used in WWII. When the museum was open, guided tours of the Ling were available to the public.
