Cemeteries are morbid places. As beautiful as some may be, there are bodies buried under the ground. How do cemeteries make you feel? It all depends on perspective. Do you see fields of green and curious tranquillity or rather a chilling spot best avoided at night? However you see them, these cemeteries are sure to evoke a response.

1. Green Bank Methodist Church Cemetery, Green Bank

All things eventually fade away. This cemetery was established in 1748; time has taken the text from many of these tombstones. Some are centuries old and years of wind and rain have left a lasting impact.

This striking cemetery was shot at night. Though dark, one fact is very clear: those mausoleums are magnificent.

The bare tree is a striking centerpiece in Evergreen Cemetery, established in 1872.
