While the days we're living in might not always be easy, we do always try to see the bright side of things. And, of course we agree that mindfulness and being present can make each day a little bit more meaningful. But, we’re here to give you permission to spend at least some time living in the past. Especially when it comes to drive-in restaurants. This little spot reminds us of simpler times, when heading out for a burger and shake was all we needed to keep things entertaining on a Friday night.
Goldenrod Restaurant drive-in, located in Manchester, is known as THE place to be for great food in southern New Hampshire.
This year-round seafood and ice cream shop has been around since 1951, making it a local favorite for nearly 70 years!
You can order inside or outside, but either way things here are simple.
In the summer you definitely want to eat outside - how else will you be able to see who's coming and going?
But, with year-round hours there's also a cozy inside dining room.
The menu includes unique takes on classic seafood favorites including this clam roll served in a wrap with coleslaw and cocktail sauce.
There are plenty of sandwiches and burgers as well.
Plus the lobster roll that comes with full pieces of lobster meat/
In the summer you might run into a classic car show, which makes the vibe of this place decidedly old-school.
And, with 37 flavors of ice cream you'll definitely need to save some room for dessert.
