The Abandoned Place Near Nashville That Most People Stay Far Away From

Have you ever heard of the Sun Valley Swim Club, in Madison, Tennessee? Not many have. It's as if the spot has been wiped from history, only serving as a small note on historic documents and on the government land that now houses the whole of Peeler Park. The once popular summer spot is now abandoned and used for storage - but it's pretty creepy to look at, especially at night.

This is the view of the swim club from the road. It's fairly far set off from the whole of it, but the place is boarded up and chained off, so no trespassing!

As you get closer, the compound-like structures start to take on a more realistic tinge. They were most likely used as changing areas for the club patrons.

As you can see, the roof is rusting but the structures are standing strong. With boarded up windows and locked doors, it's not hard to see why no one makes their way over.

Here, you can see where the pool once was. You can almost imagine folks laying out, working on their tans and the Wendy Peffercorn of Tennessee lifeguarding their heart out.

Here you can see the walkway along the edge of one of the building overhangs.

One window wasn't boarded up, and it gave a creepy feel to the place so long since left to its own devices.

This shot was taken next to the cinder block structures, and you can see how expansive the field is and how far you are from the road.

A bit weird, right? Yeah. We thought so too...if you know any stories from the old Sun Valley Swim Club, we want to hear! Send 'em on in.
