There's a breathtaking mansion in Montana that you want to put on your bucket list. The Daly Mansion is a wonderful place to explore and spend the day. Read on to learn more about this stunning estate, and then check it out yourself.
Located in Hamilton, Montana, in the Bitterroot Valley, you will find the Daly Mansion.
This historic turn-of-the-century home has been meticulously preserved and is well-deserving of a visit.
In 1886, copper magnate Marcus Daly purchased what was then the existing Anthony Chaffin homestead.
Daly had it remodeled in 1897 to a Queen Anne-style Victorian home, but he decided to have it remodeled again because it reminded him too much of a church.
Marcus died in 1900, so his wife, Margaret Daly, took over the remodeling efforts.
She hired architect A.J. Gibson of Missoula to make the Queen Anne home incorporated into a new Georgian-Revival style home.
In 1910, the remodeling was finished. The home has over 50 rooms, is three stories tall, and totals 24,000 square feet.
Today, the appearance of the interior and 26.5 acres of grounds is almost entirely unchanged from that of 1910.

Mrs. Daly died in 1941, and the mansion was then abandoned for 45 years.
However, in 1986, the Daly Mansion Preservation Trust received the keys to the property and undertook renovations and preservation.
The mansion’s grounds are open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
You can tour the mansion by appointment, so be sure to schedule a visit to the Daly Mansion on your next visit to the Bitterroot Valley.
