Hot Air Balloons Will Be Soaring At Montana’s Big Sky International Balloon Rendezvous

There's something peaceful and calming about seeing a series of hot air balloons rise up and glide across the sky. For years, Montana's only hot air balloon festival has captivated locals and tourists alike with its weekend of celebratory fun. The Big Sky International Balloon Rendezvous is returning to Billings this summer, and we couldn't be happier.

The Big Sky International Balloon Rendezvous has actually been happening for over two decades.

The event has changed names and cities a few times over the years, but the focus is always the same.

Typically, the balloons are released in the early mornings on Friday through Sunday.

One of those days also features an Evening Glow balloon release, which is gorgeous.

Currently, the event takes place in Billings at Amend Park.

The pilots come from all around the United States and Canada to show off their balloon skills.

The festival is fun, family-friendly, and completely free of charge.

This is all thanks to some fantastic sponsorships from local businesses that help keep the tradition alive.

Arrive early and treat yourself to a hearty pancake breakfast.

If you must leave your warm bed early on a beautiful summer morning, this is the best way to start your day.

The highlight of the event is the Balloon Glow, which takes place at dusk on Sunday.

However, if you can't make it, the mornings at the festival are also pretty magical.

This year's dates for the Big Sky International Balloon Rendezvous are July 23-25, 2021.

In addition to the main attraction, you can expect food trucks, live entertainment, face painting, and other kids' activities.
