There’s A Sweet Corn Festival Happening In Missouri And You’ll Absolutely Want To Go

Summer just might be the tastiest season of the year, at least for those of us who enjoy the freshest fruits and veggies. We have so many ways to enjoy that freshness, too, whether it’s visiting a local farm to pick strawberries or spending time at this sweet corn festival in Missouri.

Start counting down to the Main Street Party and Sweet Corn Festival in East Prairie. The sweetest festival of the season is set for June 20-23, 2024.

The two-day annual event is jam-packed with family-friendly activities, live entertainment, and good eats. The weekend launches with the epic Main Street Party.

Past festivals have included a car show, face painting for the kiddos, and vendors selling a variety of goods.

Several competitions will be held throughout the weekend, too. If you’ve got a competitive spirit, you might want to sign up for the Huskers 5K Run/Walk.

The Tour de Corn, a bike ride strictly for fun, is one of the highlights. Bring the whole family for a leisurely ride along one of several routes. Maps of routes will be available at the registration table.

Routes range from 15 miles to 100 miles, and each follows along at least a section of the Mississippi River Cycling Trail.

Pick up the microphone and show off your singing skills during the festival’s “Puttin’ on the Hits” competition. The competition is always a blast!

Contestants are divided into age groups – five to eight years; nine to 13 years; and 14 and older (adults). Cash prizes will be awarded to first and second place in all three categories.

East Prairie High School will host the popular Littles Sweet Corn Pageants. Lots of cute kids participate in this longstanding event. Contestants are divided into age groups.

The event will be held on June 22.
