If Money Was No Object Here’s Where I Would Go for Spring Break in Missouri
Forget the Florida Keys; Branson, Missouri, is everything you need out of the perfect spring break destination. There's so much to do you'll never get bored.
If you've never been there and you hear the name "Branson, Missouri," what do you picture? I'm going to guess that it isn't an enormous Ferris wheel, neon signs everywhere you look, and about 20 million things to do while you're here - but that's what it is. Branson is surprisingly, charmingly bawdy, and first-time visitors are often amazed at just how vibrant this place is.
This makes it perfect for something like spring break, where you're expected to have loads of fun in a beachy place on the coast, but here in Missouri, Branson is where we go to do spring break right. This is one small town in Missouri that gets less credit than it deserves, and what better time to explore it than now?
Branson is a town with a population of about 13,000 people - the town sees many more guests and visitors per year than there are folks who call it home. It's become the ultimate destination for all things fun, and if there's a time synonymous with fun, it's spring break. Whether you're looking for parties, water-based relaxation, museums, or anything else, you're sure to find it jam-packed into Branson's charming (and neon) downtown district.
For those looking to party, Branson has an array of incredibly fun bars and nightclubs that are sure to be a blast. Bars and clubs like Crazy Craig's Cheeky Monkey Bar (it even SOUNDS fun) and the Seven Arrows Taproom are quite popular, as are places like Andi B's Tiki Bar, LandShark Bar, and many others. Bar-hopping in Branson is fun, and I highly recommend it.
Nature lovers, don't fret: You can have plenty of amazing springtime fun in Branson with all the incredible natural wonders peppered nearby. Explore Table Rock State Park, which, in my opinion, kicks the teeth out of crowded beaches filled with drunk partiers. Another water-based option is the beautiful, sparkling Table Rock Lake, which is known for its amazing cleanliness.
Another popular destination for nature buffs during spring break is the Dogwood Canyon Nature Park, which is home to some of the best waterfalls in Missouri. There are lots more, but those ones make excellent starting points.
Are you craving some indoor experiences instead? No worries. Branson is home to some famous museums, like the Hollywood Wax Museum (delightfully fun, uncanny valley!), the Discover Titanic Museum, the world's Largest Toy Museum, and the Branson Dinosaur Museum.
If you're feeling especially energetic, you can try to knock out every item in these paragraphs and then some in about a week - it'll be ridiculously fun, so I highly recommend it. If you're planning to visit Branson, you'll need a place to stay, and I can't recommend the Thousand Hills Resort or the Still Waters Resort - both of them are spectacular, and I'm positively obsessed.
