Did you know there is little Liberty Bell in Missouri? It may come as more of a surprise that this replica of American freedom isn't in our state capitol or biggest cities. Unless you’ve walked the grounds at the Harry S. Truman Library and Museum, you've likely never seen this amazing replica sitting quietly on the southeast lawn. Read on and discover a little bit of history about the little Liberty Bell hiding in the Show Me State.

Independence is full of history but did you know that there is a replica of an iconic American symbol hidden in town?

Head to the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library where you can learn all about Independence's most famous resident, and find this hidden gem.

The replica was presented to Independence by the people of Annecy, France as a friendship token. The bell was dedicated by former President Truman on November 6, 1950.

The bell was originally brought to the Truman Memorial Building but was later moved to the presidential library. This amazing photo of the Liberty Bell replica was actually found in the former president's desk at the library.

The bell now sits in the southeast corner of the library grounds. Visitors can walk right up to the bell for an up-close and personal look.
