Join NASA For A Peek Into The Cosmos At Sandy Creek Covered Bridge State Historic Site In Missouri

A night of stargazing holds so much promise as we relax, look up at the twinkling stars, and point out the constellations. All we have to do, too, is walk out of our home and look up at the nighttime sky. However, if your interest runs a little deeper than casual stargazing, plan to explore the night sky in Hillsboro, Missouri, with NASA this November.

Join other stargazers at Sandy Creek Covered Bridge State Historic Site on Nov. 3, 2023 to Explore The Night Sky, a program presented by Missouri State Parks.

The two-hour event, which will run from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., will be led by Jeff, a Solar System Ambassador with NASA. Admission to this unique program is free.

Spend the evening with other Missourians as you gaze at the planets and the constellations and learn more about the nighttime sky.

While there will be telescopes at the park for guests to use, you may want to bring your own, too, if you have one.

Bring everything you’ll need for a cozy evening outdoors, including binoculars, a chair, and blankets. Lather on the bug spray and bring some along, too, as it can sometimes get quite buggy.

Unlike many Missouri state park events, Explore The Night Sky doesn’t require registration. Simply show up, and join in on the fun. If you have questions, call 636-464-2976.
