Not Many People Know About This Wolf Sanctuary Right Here In Mississippi

The winding back roads and lone stretches of highway that fill rural Mississippi lead the way to some of the state’s most interesting sites. They also lead the way to some of the most obscure. In fact, some are so obscure that you could drive right by and not even realize it. And that’s exactly the case with Mississippi’s wolf sanctuary. Take a look:

Wolf Howl Animal Preserve is tucked away in the small community of Etta, near the Holly Springs National Forest.

Established over a decade ago, the preserve includes 33 acres of wooded area and seven acres of open field, giving the wolves plenty of room to roam.

When the preserve was initially opened in 2005, it had only three wolf pups, which were born and bred at an animal preserve in Ohio.

Up until last year, the preserve offered informative tours, giving visitors the chance to get up-close views of the wolves while learning all about them.

However, the tours have been stopped since the wolves are getting older. Luckily, you can still see get a glimpse of the wolves via the preserve’s 24/7 Wolf Webcam.

Updated every 30 seconds, the camera will give you a chance to see the wolves in their den as well as during feeding time. FYI: the wolves are usually fed around 4 p.m., but this could change due to weather, etc.
