Walk Across The Tishomingo Swinging Bridge For A Gorgeous View Of Mississippi’s Fall Colors

Bold, colorful foliage isn’t as prevalent here in Mississippi as it is in other states, especially in the southern portion of the state. However, there are plenty of places to experience seasonal hues in the Magnolia State – and the famed swinging bridge at Tishomingo State Park is one of them. Take a look:

Because of its location in the northeast corner of the state, Tishomingo State Park is a prime leaf-peeping spot.

But it’s not just the park’s locale that makes it perfect for viewing foliage. There’s also the fact that it has a swinging bridge, which offers elevated views of the surrounding seasonal hues.

The 200’ swinging bridge is one of the park’s most popular features - and was even named one of the “best Southern landmarks for viewing foliage” by Southern Living.

Easy to access, the bridge is the end-point of the CCC Camp Trail. It’s also the beginning and end of the Outcroppings Trail.

The swinging bridge may offer some of the most expansive views in the park, but it’s not the only place to take in the hues of fall.

Colorful leaves fill the entire park. Luckily, there are a variety of hiking trails, making it easy to explore the area.

Huge rock formations, waterfalls, and a historic pioneer cabin are just few other sites you’ll find in Tishomingo State Park – aside from vibrant foliage, of course.
