The Magnolia State is no stranger to unique museums. One that you definitely don’t want to miss is the Mississippi Aviation Heritage Museum. A great visit for all ages, it houses exhibits on Mississippi aviators, hands-on displays, flight simulators, and more. Take a look:
The John C. Robinson Mississippi Aviation Heritage Museum is located in Gulfport, not far from the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport.
It’s named in honor of John C. Robinson, "a pioneering aviator from Mississippi."
Opened at the end of 2020, the museum is one of the Gulf Coast’s newest additions and a long time in the making.
Well worth the wait, the museum features 52,000 square feet of captivating exhibits.
More specifically, there are 17 galleries that showcase Mississippi aviators as well as Apollo astronauts and aviation heroes and daredevils.
Sure to mesmerize the young and old alike, there are also hands-on displays, flight simulators, and...
...plenty of planes, of course.
Though amazing, the museum actually isn’t finished yet.
There are plans to add an observation deck and restaurant. However, for that to happen, the museum needs volunteers and donors. Learn more here.
Well, what do you think? Are you ready to let your fun take flight with a visit to this amazing aviation museum? Remember, it's only open four days a week - Thursday through Sunday.
