Most People Have No Idea This Slice of Paradise Is Hiding In Mississippi

One of the perks of living in Mississippi is the breathtaking scenery and beautiful natural wonders. Gorgeous locales can be found all over the Magnolia State, and Snow Lake Shores is definitely one of them. The tiny town is situated in northern Mississippi. Centered around a gorgeous lake and practically overflowing with small town charm, Snow Lake Shores is a little slice of paradise hidden right here in Mississippi. Take a look:

Snow Lake Shores is located in the northern part of the state, just 14 miles from Holly Springs.

Although Snow Lake Shores didn’t become a town until 1996, the area was actually developed long ago.

Snow Lake Shores was the idea of Walter Utley, a New Yorker who moved to nearby Marshall County in 1947.

Several years later, Utley and two other men set out to develop a "resort-style" community.

In 1957, Big Snow Lake was created by building a dam on a local stream.

The following year, Snow Lake Shores was established as a "private, restricted resort community."

The lakeside community was boasted as a "safe, family-friendly place for people to both vacation and live year-round."

Visit today, and you’ll find that the town is still just as charming as it was all those years ago.

The town borders a national forest and is centered around a spring-fed lake, known as Snow Lake.

Between the lake and its surroundings, Snow Lake Shores offers boating, swimming, fishing, hiking, tennis, and miniature golf.

Home to only 300 residents, the quaint town is made up of 150 homes, which surround the tranquil lake.

A popular vacation spot, the population triples during the summer months.

The 4th of July is an especially good time to visit, thanks to an impressive fireworks display.

Snow Lake Shores is just as delightful during the winter months...

...and is even more magical, since the town holds its annual Christmas parade on the lake.
