The Country’s Most Impressive Rest Stop Is Hiding Right Here In Mississippi
Road trips are an iconic part of American travel. Driving down the interstate and singing along to your favorite tunes during a road trip is a core memory many of us share. Of course, after a few hours in the car, you need to find somewhere to get out and stretch your legs, use the restroom, etc. Thankfully, our interstate system is designed with rest stops in mind, and this particular Welcome Center in Mississippi is the perfect spot to pull over and recharge.
You’ll find this Welcome Center in Mississippi right by the Alabama border on I-10 in Moss Point.
This welcome center is especially popular with folks traveling to/from the Gulf Coast towns in Alabama and Florida.
If you've been to other welcome centers in different states, then you know this one stands out from the rest.
The inside looks more like a mansion than a rest area!
But what else would you expect from Mississippi?
The Welcome Center staff is available every day from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The entire place is open 24 hours a day, but if you need someone to speak to, then you can catch them during those hours.
Restrooms and vending machines are available 24 hours a day.
All Mississippi Welcome Centers offer RV waste disposal facilities and 24-hour security, too. If you need to pull over to rest your eyes, you can.
One of my favorite parts about this welcome center is the wide open green space.
If you're traveling with a dog, they'll love it, too.
There are a few covered areas with picnic tables where you can sit for a spell and enjoy the views before continuing on your journey.
Check out the website for this welcome center which also includes information on all Welcome Centers in Mississippi.
