Waynesboro Shubuta Road, also known as Devil Worshiper Road, is infamous for its eerie supernatural occurrences and local legends.

As is the case with many small towns, local lore about Waynesboro’s history has been passed down from generation to generation. One of the most popular stories is centered around a haunted road in Mississippi with a dark past that has come to be known as Devil Worshiper Road. It's really called Waynesboro Shubuta Road... but we almost kind of like Devil Worshiper Road more. It's a lot spookier!

This little area has always been a bit creepy.

There are numerous stories of supernatural happenings associated with the long stretch of road. Some believe the haunting is the result of a satanic cult that once murdered and sacrificed in the area.

Others attribute the eerie occurrences to Goat Man, a local farmer who sold his soul to the devil.

The demonic creature is said to be seven feet tall with glowing eyes and a pitchfork in hand.

Those that have been brave enough to drive down Devil Worshiper Road say their cars suddenly shut down, leaving them stranded…but that’s not all.

The stranded motorists say they were taunted by spirits that shook their cars and even left handprints behind.

Others say they’ve seen Goat Man himself, claiming the frightening creature stood in front of their stalled vehicle while intently staring at them.

It is also said that Goat Man can appear and vanish at will.
