Bigfoot’s Birthday Bash Is A Uniquely Mississippi Event You Don’t Want To Miss

Do you believe in Bigfoot? Just about every culture has some mythical creature that’s similar to Bigfoot. In Louisiana, it’s the Rougarou. In Arkansas, it’s the Fouke Monster. The Skunk Ape has roots in Florida, Georgia, and even Alabama. You could even stretch beyond U.S. soil and do a deep dive into other culture’s creatures like Scotland’s Loch Ness monster, or the Wildman of Shennongjia in China. Here in Mississippi, we embrace the legend of Bigfoot and even throw him a birthday party! Here’s everything you need to know about the Bigfoot Birthday Bash that’s coming up:

Bigfoot enthusiasts from all over the South flock to Natchez once a year to celebrate the legend of Bigfoot during the annual Bigfoot Birthday Bash.

2023 marks the 3rd year for the festival, and by the looks of things, it’s just going to get bigger and better every year!

On Friday, November 17, 2023, head over to the Natchez Little Theatre to enjoy a special one-act play: Bigfoot’s Revenge.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under. You can purchase tickets on the Natchez Little Theatre website.

Saturday, November 18, 2023, is a full day of celebration.

It takes place near the gazebo at Bluff Park from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

There will be arts and crafts, food vendors, and even a symposium featuring renowned Bigfoot researcher M.K. Davis.

You might be surprised to learn that the earliest known written report of Bigfoot was in Natchez!

On December 25, 1721, French Jesuit and explorer Pierre Francois Xavier de Charlevoix SJ described the creature as “a beast of an unknown species” and “whose cry did not in the least resemble that of any known animal.”

From then on, countless stories and sightings have been reported. One day, maybe we'll catch it on video...

Bigfoot’s Birthday Bash is free, so come out and have some fun!
