You Could Spend An Entire Day Exploring This Massive Minnesota Art Collection
The most surprising art collection in Minnesota is not on display in the Twin Cities or Rochester - or even Duluth for that matter, where you'd expect to find museums or galleries lined with the works of masters from around the world. No - you'll find the most surprising (and surprisingly large) art collection in the Land of 10,000 Lakes in the charming city of Winona at the quite wonderful Minnesota Museum of Marine Art.
The Minnesota Museum of Marine Art is perched on the banks of the Mississippi River in the lovely city of Winona.
The museum is dedicated to displaying works inspired by water.
To that end, it has amassed an amazing collection of art and you'll find masterpieces from artists you know to those you'll be grateful to learn about.
You never know what you'll find at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum.
Fortunately, it offers plenty of programming for connoisseurs of all ages to help them discover what the museum holds.
In addition to art, the museum offers regular events, such as live music.
The museum's programs also take advantage of its dramatic riverfront location for outdoor programs and events throughout the year.
Why not make a weekend of your visit to the museum?
Discover a little of your own water-based inspiration with a stay in this gorgeous riverfront home, located just blocks from the museum.
This art collection in Minnesota goes so deep - and is updated with new exhibits so regularly - that you'll want to come back a few times every year. Learn more about the museum and explore its collection on the Minnesota Marine Art Museum website. Or check out the museum's Facebook page for the latest news and events. While you're in town, be sure to grab a meal at Nosh Scratch Kitchen - it's easily one of my favorite restaurants. If you visit from the Twin Cities, you could even take the train down to Winona and enjoy the Bluff Country as you go.
