The Spirits At One Of Massachusetts Most Haunted Hotels Are Beyond Terrifying
The Deerfield Inn in Massachusetts is a historic and haunted hotel known for its paranormal activity.
I don't know about you, but when I travel, I love to stay at interesting hotels and rental homes. If the building has a creepy story behind it, that's even more reason to stay there! In the past, I've explored The Lizzie Borden House house in Fall River, The Omni Parker House in Boston, and The Hawthorne Hotel in Salem. I can't wait to spend the night at the Deerfield Inn, another Massachusetts haunted hotel.
The historic Deerfield Inn dates all the way back to 1884. It is a charming building in a beautiful part of the state.
The cozy inn is a popular venue for weddings and events. It definitely does not look like it would be the location for some strange and unusual activity.
Over the years, hotel staff, guests, and restaurant patrons have witnessed a number of strange occurrences.
Apparently, it is not unusual to see objects moved without being touched or to hear knocking even when no one is around.
Three ghosts are particularly active at the hotel.
The former innkeeper, John Carlisle, often roams the interior of the hotel, while his wife, Cora, prefers to travel the grounds outside. Guests have reported that they can see through her ghostly body. Some say that they have felt her tap them on the back.
Another spirit, Herschel, is often named as the cause of a lot of bad behavior.
He has been rumored to slip into guests’ rooms and move their luggage and beds across the floor. He has also caused waitstaff to knock over glasses and dishes.
Herschel likes to frequent room 48, but he's also been spotted on the hotel’s front porch.
The Deerfield Inn has also been visited by amateur ghost hunters.
Using paranormal equipment, they picked up the sound of children's laughter in a current storage room that was an area where children once slept long ago.
