1. Jackson Square
Walk around Jackson Square and pop in the many boutiques and enjoy a meal at a nearby restaurant. Local artists and musicians are always around to add to the typical New Orleans atmosphere, and St. Louis Cathedral is always stunning.
2. Frenchmen Street
Have a fun evening down on Frenchmen Street for some of the best music in the city. The two-block stretch in the Faubourg Marigny neighborhood is known for having live music no matter what night of the week you go, and you’ll hear anything from jazz to Latin and everything in between.
3. Garden District
Stroll through the Garden District and admire the beautiful architecture of the homes and the well-manicured gardens in this historic neighborhood. While you’re in the area, enjoy a meal at Commander’s Palace for a truly New Orleanian experience.
4. Magazine Street
The six-mile stretch from the Garden District to Uptown features some of the best shopping in the city. This particular strip has wonderful antique stores, art galleries, and local boutiques, plus many restaurants and coffee shops.
5. City Park
You’ll have hours of fun strolling through City Park’s 1,300 acres. Grab a coffee from Morning Call and stroll under the canopies of ancient oak trees, wander through the Sculpture Garden, the Botanical Gardens, and more. Kids will especially love the Carousel Gardens, Storyland, and mini golf.
6. The French Quarter
The French Quarter is probably the best way to have the most New Orleans day ever. After all, it’s one of our biggest tourist attractions.
